It’s ultimately local community institutions that are responsible for designing urban spaces as a whole to be safe and sustainable. However, companies such as Symrise can at least indirectly contribute to achieving these goals. We promote economic development in the various communities associated with our production sites in more than 40 countries. As a responsible neighbor and supporter of the Responsible Care Initiative, we conform to the most stringent standards regarding the environment and plant safety around the world.
With our efforts in sustainable product development, we can also ensure that the carbon footprint of our products is as low as possible, and continue reducing it. This allows us, for instance, to help reduce the wastewater load and energy consumption in cities and towns.
We contribute to sustainable development and the strengthening of communities in our supply chains by integrating social and environmental initiatives on a local level. In addition to courses on sustainable cultivation, this also includes access to clean drinking water and health care.
